The Life Of Marc Chagall

Marc Chagall is celebrated for his great artistic works and also for being one of the pioneers in the field of arts, particularly painting, around the globe. He is of Jewish decent and he started his journey to becoming a renowned artist when he 19 years of age. He used to copy portraits as well as other famous drawings when he was still at school. It was during this time that he joined a local private school known Yehuda Pen which taught painting and drawing. Even though he was so passionate about art, his father did not like the whole idea.
After about a year later, Marc Chagall joined the School of the Society of Art Supporters at Saint Petersburg where he was taught by a Russian painter called Nikolai Roerich. He also studied at the Zvantseva School of Drawing and Painting. After residing in Saint Petersburg for a few years, Marc decided to relocate to Paris, France. There, he had the opportunity to interact some of the greatest artists in the world including Robert Delaunay. As he continued with his stay there, he managed to create paintings that played a very huge role in making his name as well as establishing his career.
When the Second World War began, Marc Chagall was forced to relocate to the United States of America where he continued with his artistic works. He however had a great yearning to go back to Paris, but his wife whom he met when he was still residing in Saint Petersburg died, and his dreams were slowed down. After the death of his wife, Marc went back to Europe where he got married to Vava, his second wife. During his whole life, Marc kept his focus on arts. His passion and zeal for what he did paid off since most of his artwork was displayed in many places across the globe.
March Chagall is famous for the way he uses the colors. He usually painted a striking image by using only two or three colors. He has the ability of presenting a vivid imagination with the simpliest colors. Like one of his famous quote indicated: "When I am finishing a picture, I hold some God-made object up to it - a rock, a flower, the branch of a tree or my hand - as a final test. If the painting stands up beside a thing man cannot make, the painting is authentic. If there's a clash between the two, it's bad art."' He has influenced many art styles including Cubism,Fauvism, Symbolism and Surrealism
