Belts seem to be a dime a dozen at most thrift shops. Of course, you can pick up a few to spruce up an outfit and wear as it was intended or, you can easily change that belt into some fun jewelry. For this project, all you need is a thrifted braided belt with a good buckle, a pair of sharp scissors and a sewing machine.
First, wrap the belt around your wrist to get a measurement. I wrapped my around three times and left some room to buckle. Mark the cut line with chalk or a washable marker. Then, sew back and forth across this line a few times to hold the braid in place.
Cut with a sharp pair of scissors.
Wrap around your wrist and buckle for a cute new bracelet.
If you’re lucky and have enough of the belt left over for another bracelet, you can string a few beads for a completely different look.
Sew along both ends leaving a couple of inches to unwrap the braid so you can tie them together and get ready for your very own arm party.
